The Duke Ambulatory Surgery Center is a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility located in the Duke Health Center Arringdon in Morrisville, N.C. The center has four operating rooms, four procedure rooms and an overnight unit for extended post-procedure observation if needed. Recently, the Duke ASC Arringdon was accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). Accreditation distinguishes this center from many other outpatient facilities through its adherence to rigorous standards of care and safety. We are proud to have met the challenge of accreditation and intend to consistently uphold the principles of quality improvement in patient care.

You’ll come in on the ground floor to help build and grow this initiative, starting with the first Duke Ambulatory Surgery Center in Arringdon, NC. Your Surgical Technology experience will help bring this new concept to life, build the team to deliver exceptional care, and open the door to grow with Duke from the ground up.
SHIFT: 4/10's 630am to 5pm with one scheduled late day per week.
Surgical Technologists (ST) are allied health professionals who assist in the preparation and care of surgical patients ranging from infancy to geriatrics under the general direction of a professional nurse. The ST possesses expertise in the theory and application of sterile aseptic technique and combines the knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and implementation tools and technologies to facilitate surgeon’s performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures. The ST who has a dual function in the operating room and the ambulatory setting demonstrates competency in the care of surgical patients preoperatively and postoperatively in the ambulatory surgical clinic setting.
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or the successful completion of the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) certification exam.
Level II- Requires 6 to 12 months of full-time equivalent Surgical Technology experience, or relevant military experience.
Military equivalent or completed an appropriate training program for surgical technology in the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard or Public Health Service Commissioned Corps referencing the following:
- Surgical Service Craftsman 4N171
- Surgical Service Journeyman 4N151
- Surgical Service Superintendent 4N191
- Operating Room Specialist 68D
- Operating Room Specialist 91D
