Year of the Nurse
We’re living through a historic time and through it, our staff is delivering on the promise of excellence each and every day. Thank you to all of our Duke nurses for all you continue to do for our patients, our community and our profession. You’re why Duke Nursing epitomizes the Year of the Nurse.
At Duke Health, we recognize the unique vantage point of nurses. So when they have ideas to improve patient care, we listen. Meet Marybeth Tetlow, MSN, RN, CPN, BMTCN, a CNIV at Duke University Hospital on the Duke Pediatric Blood and Marrow Transplant Unit, who invented the Line Snuggler. Marybeth saw a need to protect central lines in a way that allowed kids to be kids. It is one of many innovative examples of Duke Nurses reimagining a better standard of care. Thank you to all of our Duke nurses for the excellent care you provide to our patients, their loved ones, and each other.
